Viktor Hamburger (1900 – 2001)

Founding researcher in the field of developmental neuroscience. Established with Rita Levi-Montalcini the role of neural growth factors (neurotrophic) for neuronal survival during development.[1][2]

Also know for his development, along with Howard Hamilton, of the historic chicken staging sequence the Hamburger Hamilton Stages.[3]
