Jose Francisco Rodriguez Vázquez
Jose Francisco Rodríguez-Vázquez, MD, DDS, PhD, was born in Madrid (July 17, 1958) is a researcher and professor (Professor and Chair) of human anatomy and embryology, Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University, and corresponding academic the Royal Academy of Medicine.
His research has focused on the field of developmental biology, especially in the human craniofacial development, with outstanding input on the development of the middle ear, and cartilage of the first two pharyngeal arches (Meckel's cartilage and Reichert) . In this same area has studied the relationship between the middle ear and the temporomandibular joint, making ligament discomalleolar systematization and its decisive contribution for the development at the close of the middle ear in humans, hitherto unknown, and related to one central theme of evolutionary biology of mammals.
He has authored over one hundred articles in the field of embryology. He is currently director of the Institute of Embryology at the Complutense University.
