Printer icon

The webpage can always be directly printed as it appears on the screen from your browser. But wouldn't it be nice to get rid of all the menus and tabs and to be able to see the page links? The 3 easy steps shown below do just that.

The printing option is available on every page in the left hand menu. An additional printer icon (shown on the right) has been added to some pages that helps with screen readers using the alternative text option.

Editing Links: Editing Basics | Images | Tables | Referencing | Journal Searches | Copyright | Font Colours | Virtual Slide Permalink | My Preferences | One Page Wiki Card | Printing | Movies | Language Translation | Student Movies | Using OpenOffice | Internet Browsers | Moodle | Navigation/Contribution | Term Link | Short URLs | 2018 Test Student

Printing from the page menu

Printing-from-menu animation.gif The option to print any page is directly available from the lefthand menu shown on all pages.

The lefthand side animation shown here gives the location of the menu items (highlighted in red) required for printing without screen formatting.

  1. Open "Toolbox" in the lefthand menu shown on every page.
  2. Select "Printable version" in the drop-down menu, page will now reload without screen formatting.
  3. Select "Print" within your browser menu at the top of the screen, this option location is browser dependent.

Note - You should also have the option of either printing to paper or saving as a PDF file. PDF files can be emailed or transferred to tablets for off-line reading (see also Mobile Access).
