Best 3 student online pages on a selected embryology topic. Selected award pages remain permanently and are promoted through the award icon on the embryology website. Award submissions will only identified by student number, by mutual agreement winners can be identified by student name. Can be included in your portfolio. Submissions close 27th July 2015. Winners announce September 2015. Judged by Dr Mark Hill. |
2015 Topics
--Mark Hill (talk) 16:20, 20 March 2015 (AEDT) This is the second time that medicine students have had an opportunity to contribute short projects to the Embryology website. I have also taken into account was the limited time available for submissions through mainly the student break time.
- This year I want students to prepare, make and upload their own multimedia page based upon a single topic from week 1 to week 3 of development.
Here are some ideas:
- Download and annotate one of the existing Embryology Movies (Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3). Add your own labels, audio commentary, supporting diagrams and information, current research in this area.
- Identify a research movie or sequence of images that can be annotated or animated to explain a developmental concept.
- Make your own movie showing a developmental process from this period.
In 2014 I made two awards to the following project pages:
- Uterine Decidualisation - describing the early implantation changes to the uterus.
- Fetal Cells in Maternal Blood - describing these novel cells and their potential diagnostic applications.
These students received a certificate and a covering letter that could be included in their portfolio.
