The levels of the sections shown as figures 2d and 9c (Bartelmez, ’22), are indicated. ch.op.?, probable chiasma ridge; c1'.neur., occipital neural crest; cr.neur.roat., the part of the rostral neural crest which extends laterally to the trigeminal thickening of the ectoderm; hep. , anlage of the liver; mem.ph., pharyngeal membrane; mesen. 1 and 2, mesencephalic neuromeres; pr.ac.fac., acoustico-facial crest; pr.op., optic primordium; rh./11, segment from which the so-called first and second rhombomeres are derived; rh.3 to 7, third to seventh definitive rhombomeres; sac.br.I I , ectodermal contact of the second visceral pouch; 3.1, first somite; thy., anlage of median thyroid.


Online Editor - Carnegie Collection Embryo 1201 with 13 somites should correspond to Carnegie stage 10. This embryo has been previously described Wallin IE. A human embryo of thirteen somites. (1913) Amer. J Anat. 15(3): 319-331.
