This animation is designed to show the changing bronchial branching pattern in the developing mouse lung between E10 to E14 of development. Mesoderm did not appear to have morphological changes associated with this process. Mouse whole-mount immunohistochemistry using vimentin to mark mesenchyme (red) and E-cadherin to mark epithelium (blue) was used to characterize bronchial branching morphogenesis. Note the animation is based upon images from reference figure 1 and are not from the same mouse, but a sequence of fluorescent images.
