The various parts of the chorda gubernaculi are represented diagrammatically. The chorda gubernaculi in the broader sense consists of: 1, the lig. testis (pars mesorchica), 2, a mesenchymatous cord in the mesonephric fold and its plica inguinalis (pars mesonephridica), 3, a mesenchymatous cord in the crista inguinalis and between the abdominal muscles (pars intermuscularis), and 4, the lig. scroti (pars scrotalis).
