Implanting Conceptus

Earliest specimen (H710) available in this set.

  • C - conceptus embedded in the superficial endometrium
  • G - well-developed endometrial glands
  • M - myometrium

(Stain - Haematoxylin Eosin) Scale bar = 1.0 cm.

  • Embryo H710 estimated to be of 43 days GA (menstrual age).
  • conceptus was embedded within the superficial layer of a highly secretory endometrium.
  • uterine glands displayed the sawtooth appearance characteristic of the late secretory phase of the menstrual cycle and were filled with copius secretions.
