MRI normal placenta different gestational ages

  • A - 19-23 weeks placenta appears as a regular homogeneous structure.
  • B - 24-31 weeks placenta appears slightly lobulated due to visualization of faint sporadic septi. This appearance progresses on advancing gestational age.
  • C - after 36 weeks universal appearance of septi and stratification of placenta into lobules.
