Human Pronuclear Stage - First Polar Body

  • Portion of the cytoplasm of the first polar body (PB1).
  • The mitochondria are few.
  • The large ER vesiclesare collapsed.
  • Note the absence of the small ER vesicles.
  • Numerous dense cortical granules (eg) are present beneath the plasma membrane of the polar body.
