Cell Cycle Cartoon

Showing cycle phases and changing cyclin levels. Note the 2 major checkpoints in G1 and S phase.

  • G0 - withdrawal from the cell cycle.
  • G1 - first growth phase, most variable in length and influenced by external growth factors.
  • S - replication of nuclear DNA.
  • G2 - second growth phase in preparation for cell division.
  • M - mitosis cell division.
