<br>Sesquizygotic twinning is a rare intermediate form of twinning, lying between mono-zygotic and dizygotic twinning, the twins can be maternally identical but chimerical for their paternal genome. This rare twinning event has been recently identified by a twin {{amniocentesis}} genotyping study<ref name=Ref-Gabbett2019>{{Ref-Gabbett2019}}</ref> that showed twins that were maternally identical, but chimerically shared 78% of their paternal genome.
