Fig. Neural crest cell migration is initially normal but later disrupted in erbb3b mutants

Description

Whole-mount labeling using crestin (A,B,E-H) or sox10 (C,D) riboprobes of wild-type embryos (A,C,E,G) and erbb3b mutants (B,D,F,H). At 24 hpf, both probes show that NC cell migration appears normal in erbb3b mutants (B,D) and in WT (A,C). At 27 (E,F) and 30 (G,H) hpf, NC cells form segmental streams ventral of the notochord in WT (E,G). In contrast, in erbb3b mutants (F,H) there are no streams at these stages, and NC cell migration is disrupted. Dotted lines represent dorsal aspect of the notochord. Lateral views, anterior to left. Scale bar 20 μm.

Mark Hill (talk) 10:08, 18 October 2018 (AEDT) Description, reference, copyright and student template all correct. You could have provided additional descriptive information about the "erbb3b mutation", (Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-3) for example the linked information shown below.

  • ZFIM - erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 3b
  • OMIM 190151 - TYROSINE KINASE-TYPE CELL SURFACE RECEPTOR HER3
  • ERBB3 is a receptor for heregulin (NRG1; 142445) and is capable of mediating HGL-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation of itself
