This is a FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) analysis X chromosomes within a mosaic nucleus of XXY, XXXY, and XXXXY respectively. Each section (out of the three shown)illustrates a single nucleus. Within each nucleus the X chromosomes have been marked with a green fluoresent protein, allowing for their observation. As can be seen, the first nucleus is of standard Klinefelter's karyotype with two X chromosomes, and so on. These cells were isolated from a single patient expressing mosaic Klinefelter's syndrome.
