Fetal Temporomandibular Joint

Human fetus (55 mm GL; 10th week of development).

Frontal section. (Stain - Haematoxylin Eosin) Bar = 100u m.

The inferior joint cavity is between the articular disc (D) and the mandibular condyle (C). Squamous part of the temporal bone (S); blood vessel (V); superficial temporal artery (TA).
