Bergmann Astrocyte
This drawing of a granule cell was based upon electron micrograph images of the rat cerebellum.
It shows a Bergmann astrocyte which has only a thin rim of cytoplasm on one side of the nucleus and a relatively large cytoplasmic mass on the other. RNP particles, dense bodies (d), mitochondria~ the Golgi apparatus (G), and a fewtubular elements of the granular endoplasmic reticulum are illustrated. At the left are the bases of two processes.
