Showing the arrangement of the various components of this complex cell including: the sperm nucleus (315 N), acrosome (Ac), head cap (Cap), nuclear ring (Ri), manchette (M a), postnuclear cap (Pu C), proximal centriole (Pr C), ring centriole (Ri C), and tail filaments (Ta F). The so called postnuclear cap (Pn C) appears here as a space between the nuclear membrane and the condensed chromatin of the posterior segment of the nucleus. Its origin and significance require further study. X 26,891.
