  • Oocyte in centre of animation, red regions in oocyte cytoplasm are cortical granules.
  • Polar body at top lefthand side (first polar body).
  • Zona pellucida pale ring surrounding ooctye.
  • Corona radiata layer surrounding zona pellucida, made up of follicular granulosa cells.
  • Spermatozoa at bottom centre of animation.
