width=350px|height=360px|controller=true|autoplay=false</qt> Animation showing the development of the uterus (red) from the paramesonephric (Müllerian) ducts (red).

The paired ducts fuse in the midline forming the single body of the uterus.

The ducts remain separate where they form the uterine tubes (Fallopian tubes, uterine horns).

The peripheral site of attachment to the urogenital sinus wall (yellow) is is described as the Müllerian tubercle.

--Mark Hill 16:42, 20 May 2011 (EST) Current research indicates the colour coding for vagina development is incorrectly shown here and it should also be identified (red) from the paramesonephric (Müllerian) ducts (red).
