Measurement of Deviations of the Spine with Scoliometry

Scoliometry using a Pedi-Scoliometer (Pedihealth Oy, Oulu, Finland) to measure spine deviation. In structural scoliosis an asymmetry of the two halves of the back is seen.

  • Spinal deviations were previously measured using Moiré topography.
  • Moiré topography is a biosteriometric method producing a three-dimensional image of the shape of the trunk.
