Cytoplasmic annulate lameIlae as seen in a section perpendicular to the surface of the membranous sheets.
The majority of the cisternae have dilated, ampullar ends.
Some of the lamellae join at regularly spaced intervals (arrows).
In other lamellae, the areas of membrane adhesions are less numerous.
This appearance is probably due to the plane of sectioning.
