* Decidua Basalis - part of the maternal mucosa to which the chorion frondosum is attached, it is convenient to consider the two structures together.
* Decidua Capsularis - part of the maternal mucosa that covers the conceptus chorion laeve
* Decidua Parietalis - the remainder of the maternal uterine mucosa away from the site of implantation.
