William Frederick Windle (1898-1986)

Prof. William F. Windle was an American research neurologist who specialized in nerve regeneration.

William Frederick Windle was born in Huntington, Ind., in 1898. He received a bachelor's degree from Denison University in Granville and a master's degree and Ph.D. from Northwestern University, where he taught for 24 years.

He left Northwestern University in 1946 to head the Department of Anatomy in the new medical school of the University of Washington at Seattle.
