Die bipolaren Nervenzellen des Ganglion vestibuläre entsenden einen Fortsatz zentral, zum Nervus vestibularis, der schließlich die Medulla oblongata erreicht, und einen andern Fortsatz peripher, der sich durch die Capsula auditiva zur Macula und den Ampullen begibt. Hier sind nur einige Zellen und Fasern dargestellt. Das Epithel besteht aus Stützzellen und kurzen Sinneszellen mit Cilien, die peripheren Nervenfortsätze treten nach vorheriger Teilung im sub- epithelialen Bindegewebe in die oberste Zellenlage und endigen dort frei.
