The eyelid is grooved by the lateral continuation of the frontonasal groove, which divides it into three segments, viz. a small triangular part at the medial commissure (fig. 1, A), a larger intermediate part (B), and a lateral part (C), which becomes continuous with the lower lid at the lateral commissure. The lower lid is smooth, and blends with the cheek and the upper lip at the angle of the mouth, and is continuous medially with the root of the nose. The nose is broad and upturned.
