Somatosensory pathway. Peripheral sensations are detected by receptors all over the body and are sent through sensory neurons to the s[pinal cord. Information then go through the dorsal column or up the lateral spinothalamic tract to the thalamus before being sent to the somatosensory cotex where it is processed.
