Ultrasound is an important tool in prenatal diagnosis of a number of congenital conditions. New technology has allowed ultrasoundographers and the parents of the unborn child to visualise the facial features, among other things not only for personal curiosity but also as a diagnostic tool. Here the face of the fetus is clearly shown. This is an example of a normal fetus.
