Figure representing the processing steps of the Hh molecule precursor, which initially a small section is removed, known as the signal sequence by a signal petidase, where the C terminus cleaves it self and adds a cholesterol onto the signalling domain. Ski or acyltransferase then adds a palmitic acid group onto the N terminus to form the complete signalling Hh molecule.
