This historic 1938 paper by Brewer describes early human development before gastrulation. An embryo age of 15 days could make this specimen Carnegie stage 6 in Week 2. This embryo was initially given the serial number (H1496) and later incorporated into the Carnegie Collection as embryo no. 8819.
