Parental_genome_mix_01_icon.jpg</wikiflv> Movie shows initial parental genomes mixing in early embryonic mitosis.

In the mouse zygote, separation of chromatin according to parental origin is preserved up to the four-cell embryo stage and then gradually disappears.

This movie shows that up to the 4 cell stage in the preimplantation embryo, the distribution of the 2 parental genomes remain segregated. After this stage, there is a gradual mixing of the 2 genomes with each cell division.
