Introduction

All pre-2010 Medicine content (lectures and practicals) resides on the original website pages UNSW Embryology - Class Notes and are shown as Archive links below. These historic pages will not be deleted, but when new versions are made available a link will also be included on these original pages. The newest notes are shown at the top of this current page, lecture and practical content is under continual development.

Textbooks

Embryology Textbooks - There are many different textbooks that have used in preparing UNSW Embryology and there are some excellent textbooks that cover medical embryology or more broadly developmental biology. I do not intend to endorse any specific textbook, the linked page simply lists, and provides links too, those I have seen and/or used. Please note that access to online textbooks works only through UNSW Library or campus computers.

I am indebted in preparing this online resource to the many wonderful embryology textbooks that are available. Students studying embryology should look through these in their library and select the one which most suits their study methods. Please note that on the first page of each notes section there is a list of specific chapters of embryology texts relevant to that section of notes. I have also prepared a short list of development related Journals and Historic Texts.
