Transgenic Rabbit expressing Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP)

This is a photograph of a transgenic rabbit named Alba who has a jellyfish gene allowing it to glow a bright green. The green fluorescent protein (GFP) is characteristic of the Pacific Northwest jellyfish and through genetic transfer has also become a characteristic of Alba's phenotype. Under the correct lighting conditions, the green glow is visible.
