Human Embryo - Carnegie Stage 9

Stage 9 day 20, somites 3-4

Cranial view (amniotic sac cut away) showing the embryo, cut amnion and yolk edge.

Note:

  1. the shape of the early folded embryonic disc and rostro-caudal bendings.
  2. the large neural groove.
  3. the brain folds.
  4. the stomedeal/buccopharyngeal region.
  5. the ventral cardiogenic region.
