Skull Posterior Plagiocephaly

  • Posterior, superior and endocranial 3DCT volume rendered images show posterior plagiocephaly, secondary to unilateral lambdoid fusion (arrow).
  • posterior view - the posterior skull base is tilted downward on the affected side.
  • superior view - the skull assumes a trapezoid shape .
  • endocranial view - the posterior skull base axis (passing through the basion and opisthion) is rotated toward the side of lambdoid fusion and does not coincide with the anterior skull base axis (passing through the crista galli and basion).
Skull CT Images: Normal overview | Normal vertex and lateral | Normal endocranial and vertex | Normal Vertex - Fontanels | Dolichocephaly and Scaphocephaly | Coronal Synostosis | Anterior Plagiocephaly | Turricephaly | Posterior Plagiocephaly | Deformational Plagiocepahly | Trigonocephaly | Oxycephaly | Computed Tomography
