Rita Levi-Montalcini (1909 – 2012)

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 1986 - Stanley Cohen, Rita Levi-Montalcini "for their discoveries of growth factors"

Established with Stanley Cohen and Viktor Hamburger the role of neural growth factors (neurotrophic) for neuronal survival during development.[1] [2] For which she and Stanley Cohen received the 1986 Nobel Prize in Medicine.[3]
