A diagram of the olfactory epithelium located at the roof of the nasal cavity. The olfactory epithelium acts as the organ for smell by enabling olfactory signal transduction. This diagram aim to highlight the content of the olfactory epithelium including the receptor/supporting cells and the bowman's gland. In addition to this, the diagram helps illustrate the relative position of the content of the olfactory epithelium relative to the mucus layer (inferior) and olfactory bulb (superior).
