(Anatomical Collection in Basel.)

For orientation embryo is upward and to the left is the adjacent brain as indicated by the heart the bottom and right. The head the embryo is straight. The lower jaw (mandibular arch) and the associated tongue clearly separated. The mouth opening leads into the plates foregut, which is curved over the back of the tongue downward (inferior) laryngeal and turns into the esophagus (dorsal) and the adieus with the trachea (anteriorly) splits. The primitive nasal cavity is through the primitive choanae in connection with the foregut. In the roof of the primitive nasal cavity from the brain of an olfactory nerve. Fig. 356. Kopfdarm eines menschlichen Embryo von 13,8 mm. Im Sagittalschnitt. (Anatomische Sammlung in Basel.)
