Fertility Timeline of a Woman

A female is initially born with around 1000000 million primordial follicles. As she ages and reaches puberty the follicles decrease, and continue to decrease as she reaches sub fertility and are exhausted at menopause. During each cycle during menstruation a follicle matures and is released during ovulation. The limited number of follicles and immaturity of the follicles creates limitations to addressing fertility preservation in women.
