Chromosome 5 - NKX2-5 Gene

This is a diagrammatic representation of chromosome 5. The highlighted and blown-up section is the region in the chromosome that contains the NKX2-5 gene that is affected by the mutation. The mutation involved is the misense mutation resulting in the substitution of the encoding codons producing a different amino acid. The 3 known misense mutation are represented by the different coloured lines on the blown-up section of the diagram.
