Cell division - Three Types

  • Binary fission - prokaryotes (bacteria). Note this form of division also occurs in the eukaryotic organelle the mitochondria.
  • Meiosis - eukaryotes only in germ cell production.
  • Mitosis - eukaryotes cell division in all other cells.
