Msx1-/-;Tbx2+/-mouse mutants showed rescue from bud to cap phase transition in embryonic dental development. Both upper and lower molars showed an enlargement in the tooth buds (H, K, L), with few upper molars progressing to cap stage (G). The arrowheads indicate enamel knots (E,G,I).
