Week 12 Head Development

This lateral transverse rotation shows early fetal GA week 12 skull and head development. This stage is after embryonic development and at the end of the first trimester.

The cranial vault plates and mandible undergoing intramembranous ossification. Note the ventral midline cleft in the developing mandible where in the earlier embryonic period the first pharyngeal arch left and right mandibular prominences met.
