Introduction
Hideo Nishimura 西村英雄 (1912–1995) established in 1961 the Kyoto Collection held at Congenital Anomaly Research Center, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan. This collection is now curated by Prof. Shigehito Yamada and has over 44,000 human specimens and continues to be actively used for human embryology research.
