This movie shows the size of both the embryo and the extra-embryonic spaces by week 6 of development.

  • chorionic sac - is left almost completely occupied by the amniotic sac. The chorionic frondosum (upper half) is densely covered in chorionic villi, this is the early embryonic component of the developing placenta. The chorionic lavae (lower half) is smooth and chorionic villi are absent, this faces towards the maternal decidua capsularis.
