Project Development
Suggested Main Topics
As I mentioned in today's Lab, you all now have selected from within the topic a sub-topic to cover for your own group project.

* Please place your signature under the main topic you would like to choose (add yours to the bottom of the existing list.
Project Hints
* You can also show your preferred Project sub-topic for your group as well.
The length, subheadings, layout and overall structure are entirely up to your group. (I did mention in class a few subheading ideas, but it is entirely up to your group)

Here are a few helpful hints. There is also additional online editing help.

Poll closes 9am Friday this week. Most votes wins!
* Divide the project up into sections or parts that individual group members will now research. (Later everyone will contribute to all sections and you can help other members/sections with research you have found)
* Add your planned sub-headings to the topic page. (Note that this can change as you go along and know more about your system)
* Add your research findings and links to the discussion page. (Identify that you have added the information by your signature)
** While you can mention embryonic development (week 1-8) that has gone before this is not the focus of the project.
* Add references as links (PMID number) or even webpages, movies, content images as links that you would like to use. ( And also so group members can also see what you have found)
* Do not worry about formatting content on your page yet. (this will be done later in the project timeline)

Sensory Development
Project Restrictions
* Only 1 Wikipedia image can be included on your project page. (I know they have some useful material)
* Only 1 Youtube video can be included on your project page. (though you can include as many research or your own videos as you want)
* Do not upload any images already existing on the website. (you can use any existing website material within your project, by must reference correctly)

Images
Organ Development
* From research and review articles that allow reuse and should be added in the same way as in Assessment 2. (Must include the same renaming, reference and copyright information) Copyright Tutorial
* Not from the internet should be avoided as most either do not allow reuse and do not identify the original source.
* From your own drawing if you find a relevant image that you cannot use, redraw or reorganise and acknowledge the original source image. ("image based upon....")
** Draw on a powerpoint slide and export the slide as a picture.
** Draw on a piece of paper, photograph and upload the photo.

Project Guidelines
* Divide the project into sections, that each member will work on.
** Later you can all work together on the entree project.
* Collect references, on your discussion page and prepare summaries.
** This will help others in the group understand what the paper is about.
* Collect images, on your discussion page that are correctly cited.
** plaigarism and copyright issues will affect your final group mark.
* Balance text and images, do not have too much of one or the other.
** Remember this is an online project and not an essay, hold the readers attention.
* Avoid Editing your project page simultaneously with other group members, this may crash the project page and make loading slow.
** Make small edits save regularly, do not leave the page open in edit mode for long periods.
** Organise times when you alone will be editing the project.
* Avoid Wikipedia sourced content, you are permitted a maximum of 1 image from that source and no derived text.

Plagiarism
Currently all students originally assigned to each group are listed as equal authors/contributors to their project. If you have not contributed the content you had originally agreed to, nor participated in the group work process, then you should contact the course coordinator immediately and either discuss your contribution or request removal from the group author list. Remember that all student online contributions are recorded by date, time and the actual contributed content. A similar email reminder of this information was sent to all current students.
Please note the Universities Policy regarding Plagiarism
In particular this example:
:"Claiming credit for a proportion of work contributed to a group assessment item that is greater than that actually contributed;"
Academic Misconduct carries penalties. If a student is found guilty of academic misconduct, the penalties include warnings, remedial educative action, being failed in an assignment or excluded from the University for two years.
Please also read Copyright Tutorial with regard to content that can be used in your project.

ANAT2341 Lab 3: Introduction | Week 3 | Week 4 | Abnormalities | Online Assessment | Group Project

Project Development

As I mentioned in today's Lab, you all now have selected from within the topic a sub-topic to cover for your own group project.

Project Hints

The length, subheadings, layout and overall structure are entirely up to your group. (I did mention in class a few subheading ideas, but it is entirely up to your group)

Here are a few helpful hints. There is also additional online editing help.

  • Divide the project up into sections or parts that individual group members will now research. (Later everyone will contribute to all sections and you can help other members/sections with research you have found)
  • Add your planned sub-headings to the topic page. (Note that this can change as you go along and know more about your system)
  • Add your research findings and links to the discussion page. (Identify that you have added the information by your signature)
    • While you can mention embryonic development (week 1-8) that has gone before this is not the focus of the project.
  • Add references as links (PMID number) or even webpages, movies, content images as links that you would like to use. ( And also so group members can also see what you have found)
  • Do not worry about formatting content on your page yet. (this will be done later in the project timeline)

Project Restrictions

  • Only 1 Wikipedia image can be included on your project page. (I know they have some useful material)
  • Only 1 Youtube video can be included on your project page. (though you can include as many research or your own videos as you want)
  • Do not upload any images already existing on the website. (you can use any existing website material within your project, by must reference correctly)

Images

  • From research and review articles that allow reuse and should be added in the same way as in Assessment 2. (Must include the same renaming, reference and copyright information) Copyright Tutorial
  • Not from the internet should be avoided as most either do not allow reuse and do not identify the original source.
  • From your own drawing if you find a relevant image that you cannot use, redraw or reorganise and acknowledge the original source image. ("image based upon....")
    • Draw on a powerpoint slide and export the slide as a picture.
    • Draw on a piece of paper, photograph and upload the photo.

References

  • Search the PubMed reference database and add the formatted reference. Reference_Tutorial (If you want to just add quickly paste PMID XXXXX, replace the Xs with the number)
  • Identify reviews and research articles. (they must be separated to identify in your project)
    • Review articles - do not contain original findings or research but are good sources for overview of a topic. Can be used and identified by "as reviewed in" or "see review")
    • Research articles - contain original findings or research and should be cited in your project content when you describe a finding.

PubMed Central Image Searching

PubMed Central (PMC) is a reference database containing full text references that everyone can read. (Just because you can read it does not mean you can use it)

PMC also contains other references that cannot be reused.

  • Papers made available by journals for use only in PMC.
  • Draft papers required by law to be deposited in PMC by authors who have received government or other research funding.

PMC also contains references that can be reused.

  • These papers when opened will clearly display the copyright notice and usage restrictions.

The search function below lists all images (both can and cannot be reused) and you need to then find the usage rights in the original paper.

  1. Here is an image search link for integument click the link to see the results.

Reuse Journals

Some information about Journals

Journal reuse information can change over time, please check the original article for specific copyright information. Some journals also have some restrictions as to when you can reuse, such as "6 months after publication".
