Dr. Kimberley Beaumont

Melanocyte Development, Differentiation and Melanoma

Dr Beaumont leads the Melanoma Cell Biology group at the Centenary Institute and is currently focused on investigating the mechanisms underlying melanoma progression and metastasis.

In her studies she utilizes a 3D melanoma spheroid model, which better mimics the tumour microenvironment compared to conventional 2D cell culture models, as well as mouse models.

3. Group Projects

Peer review process should now be completed. I will have unlocked the project pages before today's lab and you can continue editing before final submission (last week of semester).

Now read through your peer reviews of your project.

  1. Have many reviews identified specific faults with the current project page?
  2. Have many reviews identified specific strengths with the current project page?
  3. Are there simple errors that need correction.

All members of your group have now reviewed all the other project pages.

  1. How does your page compare to other projects?
  2. Have you thought now that parts of your own page that could be improved?
  3. Do other groups have good ideas you can incorporate into your own page?

Remember that peer assessors will not have identified all issues that will come out in the final assessment.

  1. Image information, referencing and copyright will not have been checked in detail. This is a common mistake (look at previous years assessments on their discussion page).
  2. Referencing and sources within the project page will not be checked in detail.
  3. Parts of your project page may be identified by peer assessment as incomplete, due to a group member not completing their assigned work. You need to contact me so that I can follow up with those individual(s). Remember the whole project mark will be affected by this issue now.

OK now get your content completed and start organising the "appearance" of the project page. Please contact me now if you are having any technical issues, it is to late to let me know when the project t is actually due.
