Gastrointestinal and Respiratory Development
Introduction
This laboratory will review your understanding of these two systems, embryonically related, but quite separate in the adult.
The laboratory will also allow time for work on the group online project.
Objectives
- Understanding of germ layer contributions to the early gastrointestinal tract (GIT)
- Understanding of three main GIT embryonic divisions and developmental mechanical events.
- Understanding of associated organ development (liver, pancreas, spleen)
- Understanding of embryonic and 4 histological stages of lung development
- Understanding of diaphragm development
- Brief understanding of associated abnormalities
