The projection measured in spirit and before imbedding in paraffin about 2 mm in length and about 1 mm in breadth at its widest part. It must be pointed out that these measurements are probably too great, since one dare not touch the specimen with the dividers in case it should suffer some damage. Much time was spent in trying to obtain a photograph without any satisfactory result, and finally a freehand drawing was made with the assistance of the stereoscopic dissecting microscope at a magnification of 15 diameters (fig. 1).
