  1. the relative size of the embryo.
  2. the shape of the early folded embryonic disc and rostro-caudal bendings.
  3. the size and shape of the brain fold region.
  4. the notochordal plate on ventral surface of embryo.
  5. the position of the prechordal plate (cardiogenic region) ventral to brain fold.
  6. the connecting stalk (left).
