Skull Dolichocephaly and Scaphocephaly

• Dolichocephaly (Greek, dolikhos = long) and scaphocephaly (Greek, scaphe = boat)
• cranial vault deformities that result from premature fusion of the sagittal suture.
• resultant increase in the anterior-posterior dimension.
• restriction of biparietal growth.

• white arrows - show fusion and prominent ridging of the sagittal suture
• *frontal and occipital bossing

Also note the increased anterior-posterior dimension and restricted biparietal diameter.
